The 20th Annual IAMFA Conference
San Franciso, U.S.A.
October 17 - 20, 2010

(Last Updated: June 2010)

The Northern California Chapter invites you to attend IAMFA's 20th annual conference 2010 in San Francisco, October 17th to 20th. We will provide you with a compelling curriculum in world class venues for your professional development. Facility Issues will again conduct our Benchmarking Practices and Learning Workshop on the Sunday prior to the conference, October 17th. We will also provide social time and events for fellowship and networking. A parallel Guest Program is being offered and as well as a "Day After" excursion to Sacramento.

Our host hotel is the classic Sir Francis Drake Hotel just off Union Square in the heart of San Francisco's downtown. We urge you to book your accommodations within our reserved block at the $169 rate secured for IAMFA. Conference Registration and the Ice Breaker Reception will take place in the Sir Francis Drake Hotel Sunday afternoon and evening, October 17th.

Our presenting institutional partners will be the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Stanford University Libraries, Cantor Art Museum, the De Young Museum, the California Academy of Sciences, the Contemporary Jewish Museum, The Exploratorium, The Disney Family Museum, the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. Social events include Sunday's Ice Breaker Welcome Reception at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in Harry Denton's Starlight room, Monday's walking tour and California BBQ at Runnymede Sculpture Ranch and Wednesday's Gala Banquet at the Maritime Museum.

We will be offering a Guest Program led by Erin Tormey whom you may remember from our 2003 conference. The program will provide historical glimpses of the Old SF, shopping opportunities, cultural gems, delectable dining and camaraderie.in other works all the usual treats!

We are offering a grand Day After excursion we are calling "A Capitol Idea!" to California's Capitol Sacramento. Located 90 miles inland on the Sacramento River in California's Central Valley, Sacramento is distinctly different from San Francisco but also offers a wealth of cultural amenities. We will visit the State Railroad Museum and the Crocker Art Museum in the morning then dine aboard the Delta King, a venerable old River Boat tied up on the river bank in Old Sacramento. After lunch we will visit the magnificently restored State Capitol building on an architecture tour then visit the nearby Leland Stanford Mansion for a short tour and drinks before boarding the bus back to the Hotel.
