Position Title: Maintenance Senior Engineer - Job # 075-07

Classification: Regular, Hourly, Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Inspects, maintains, and repairs building and mechanical systems; completes appropriate work order forms, log, and records; maintain contact with vendors and contractors; reports to the Facilities Manager.

Essential Functions:

Inspects and maintains buildings and mechanical systems on all Huntington properties, including off-site residences. Duties include: visual and mechanical inspections; minor and major repairs; preventative maintenance; completion of maintenance, inspection and inventory logs and forms; Building maintenance and repairs may be performed on: structural elements, roofs, facades, interiors, storm drains, gutters, downspouts, underground tunnel systems; Mechanical system maintenance and repairs may be performed on: HVAC systems (including steam trap, cooling tower, chemical feed, air handling units, air filters, air-cooled condensers, air compressors, and pneumatic temperature controls), refrigeration units, dehumidifiers, pumps, elevator shutoffs, motors, sump pumps, generators, and other mechanical equipment; Maintenance and repairs may also be performed on: Facilities vehicles (minor vehicle maintenance; check filters and fluid levels, etc.), electrical systems (including wiring, plugs, outlets, panels, light bulbs and fixtures, power transformers, electrical grounds, circuit breakers. switch gear, etc.), plumbing systems (including piping systems, septic tanks, toilets, sinks, water heaters, etc.), gas heaters, kitchen equipment; Maintains cleanliness around all mechanical and equipment areas; maintains tools and equipment used in the performance of duties; Serves in rotating stand-by schedule to respond to emergencies, work during special events, etc. Carries a radio; may wear a pager; Escorts contractors, vendors, architects and others and completes appropriate log forms; Completes appropriate work order forms; tracks time per job. Complete appropriate equipment history reports; May supervise construction projects; may supervise and/or assist other trades; May order or purchase supplies, under the direction of the Facilities Manager; Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have technical expertise in one or more trades, including ability and aptitude too work with tools and materials, read and work from shop drawings, blueprints and applicable codes; In-depth knowledge of interior and exterior building layouts, construction materials and techniques to provide information and escort to contracts, vendors, architects, etc.; Ability to lift heavy objects, such as machinery, lumber, etc.; Ability to work cautiously and cleanly around artifacts; Valid California drivers license. Experience: A minimum of five years electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and/or building maintenance experience required, with excellent skills in three or more trades, or highly-specialized skills in at least one trade.
