We are looking for a Building Facilities Coordinator to join the team at the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna O Waiwhetu.
Our core business is to enhance the city's cultural well-being by staging visual art exhibitions, and promotes public appreciation of the Canterbury region's art heritage by collecting, conserving, studying and disseminating knowledge of works of art.
We are seeing applicants experienced in facility management to ensure that the Christchurch Art Gallery building systems, security and environmental controls are maintained within internationally recognised industry parameters. You will have functional experience monitoring technical, building and operational equipment.
The preferred qualification is a relevant trade or facility management qualification and significant experience in a museum, relevant public institution, and hospitality or retail environment. Applicants should also have good organisational skills, a strong customer service focus and possess excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with a diverse range of staff and contractors.
You will have project management experience, and experience in providing sound management of contracts to ensure all essential services are delivered in the most cost effective way. This role also requires experience in management accountabilities including, financial, reporting, risk management and business continuity planning.
