2023 IAMFA Conference Guest Program

Plans for the IAMFA Annual Conference in Amsterdam this fall are coming together beautifully, and it’s our hope that we will be welcoming a record number of delegates and their guests from across the globe.

This year, we are organizing the IAMFA Annual Conference a bit differently.  We have engaged an experienced events management consultant, The Mandrier Group, to plan a very special conference that will give members the very best of Amsterdam and the unique educational opportunities its museums and cultural institutions can provide.   The principal, Brian Mandrier has been working tirelessly to organize an amazing conference for us.

Since we do not have a host committee, or host institutions organizing our conference in Amsterdam  the guest program has been re-envisioned so that participants will be able to enjoy many of the city’s abundant attractions and cultural amenities at their own pace – while also connecting with their partners and other IAMFA delegates at three very special events during the conference (including, of course, the spectacular gala).

Amsterdam is a compact and walkable city, and the conference hotel – the Hyatt Regency Amsterdam – is centrally located near so much of what the city has to offerYou will be able to begin making reservations at the conference hotel very soon! Once you have made your reservation, please use this email address for restaurant reservations, information on local attractions, transportation bookings/questions, general questions about the neighborhood, etc.  [email protected].   If you’d like to plan your exploration of Amsterdam in advance and have more of a “pre-programmed” tour experience, our consultant has made special arrangements with two highly-regarded tour companies,  Context Travel: https://www.contexttravel.com/cities/amsterdam (small group and private walking tours) and Bespoke Amsterdam Experiences: https://amsterdamexperiences.nl/ (group and private tours)Please reach out to either company using these links to arrange your outingsThey offer a range of “à la carte ” and multi-day options to meet just about anyone’s needs and interestsBoth companies have been informed and are up to date on the types of activities guests have enjoyed at past conferences, and they are also aware of the dates and times guests may be joining the delegates at one or more of the three events.

We also encourage you to consider reaching out to other guests from previous conferences to join forces in your planningThe IAMFA board is confident that everyone attending will have a memorable and rewarding time experiencing Amsterdam.  If you have any questions about any of these changes, or if you would like any additional information, please reach out to any board member for guidanceWe are here to help!
